Ubicaciones temporales / Set up your temporary locations
Add temporary locations
Temporary Locations allow you to track products at all times within your warehouse, optimizing the flow from reception to packing.
Temporary locations
Temporary locations are transit points within the warehouse that enable product tracking at each stage of the process, from reception to shelving and finally to the packing station. This ensures greater traceability and efficiency in inventory management.
Types of Temporary Locations
1. Reception Temporary Locations
Reception Temporary Locations are used to transport products that have already been verified, measured, and received to their designated shelves. These carts are typically larger than picking carts (temporary locations) since bulk products are being received.
Here’s an example of a cart that could work for the Assignment process. Keep in mind that you can adapt any transport method to serve as a temporary location.
2. Picking Temporary Locations
Picking Temporary Locations are used to transport products from picking to packing. Picking carts typically have multiple containers (temporary locations), making the picking process more efficient by allowing multiple orders to be processed at once.
Here’s an example of a typical picking cart for e-commerce products. Note that the containers or sections of the cart can be adapted to meet your needs.
Assignment and use of barcodes
Each container in the temporary locations has a unique barcode, allowing for scanning and tracking of products. This ensures accuracy in every movement within the warehouse.
Printing Barcodes
- Go to the Warehouses section
- Select your warehouse
- Access Order Process and choose Temporary Locations.
- In the Actions option, select Print to generate the barcodes
